COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we live. More and more businesses are opting for work from home and people are staying away from crowded and enclosed spaces. In the interest of health and safety, we have witnessed a shift towards contactless delivery and services thereby reducing the dependency on domestic staff and chauffeurs. To ease the experience of car repairs and routine service, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. in association with Home-Mechanic has launched “Home–Mechanic IND” powered by Servo.
The Mech-mobile project commences from 21st October 2020. The first service van will be based out of Company Owned Company Operated Retail Outlet at Masjid Moth (Panchsheel Enclave).

Home-Mechanic IND will provide over 300 car repair and services at the customers doorstep irrespective of the vehicle brand, model and make. The association will penetrate into Mumbai in the coming month followed by other cities in India. The tech enabled Mech-Mobile is akin to a workshop on wheels and houses special tools, diagnostic equipment, and fast-moving spare parts. Once the customer books an appointment, they receive a call for better understanding pertaining to the type of service they are looking for. Based on the vehicle description and the problem, the 3-member technician team visits the customers home and completes the job on-site. All safety precautions are taken and there is no physical contact with the customer. Home-Mechanic IND also offers basic to advanced packages for routine servicing, smoke sanitising protection from COVID-19 and waterless car washing and polishing.
